Season’s greetings and reflections on a year of growth 2025

As 2025 draws to a close, everyone at Venner Shipley sends our warmest wishes for a safe, happy and healthy holiday season, and a fulfilling year ahead.

As in previous years, we have made a charitable donation to The Trussell Trust in lieu of Christmas cards, helping to support their work providing food to individuals and families in need over the holidays.

Joining forces: One Year On

This December also marks one year since Venner Shipley and AA Thornton came together and what a wonderful journey it has been.

This first year together has been full of growth, collaboration and shared success. Our combined firm now brings together over 230 talented people, including 46 partners, working side by side to deliver exceptional service to our clients.

We have celebrated 10 promotions this year, which is a wonderful reflection of the dedication, expertise and energy that define our people. Our Litigation and Licensing team in particular continues to thrive, welcoming two new hires who have strengthened our capability and presence in this fast-growing area.

It has been rewarding to see our hard work recognised, with Venner Shipley now ranked as a top-tier firm in Chambers and Legal 500 as well as in Managing IP for Patents. We have also expanded our horizons, having visited 20 countries as a combined team and meeting clients, partners and friends around the world.

Most importantly, we have successfully transitioned and continued to deliver a seamless and trusted service to all our clients under the Venner Shipley name, something we are truly proud of.

Looking forward

As we head into 2026, our focus is firmly on building upon this strong foundation. We will continue to grow and strengthen our position as a European leader in intellectual property and related legal services. The Litigation and Licensing team will remain a key area of development, expanding its reach and capability to meet our clients’ evolving needs.

Looking ahead, 2026 promises some exciting developments, including the opening of another office as well as plans for a new office space that will better reflect who we are today and where we are headed tomorrow.

Above all, our goal remains unchanged: to provide top-class service to all our clients, current and future, with the same dedication, expertise and integrity that define Venner Shipley.

As we celebrate this milestone and look forward to a bright future, I want to thank everyone – our clients, colleagues and partners – for being part of this incredible journey.
