Terms in relation to use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Venner Shipley may use AI tools to support the work that we handle for you. The AI tools that are used at the firm have been carefully selected taking into account their confidentiality protections. We encourage our IP professionals to make use of these tools as a ‘thinking aid’ to help improve quality, drive efficiency, and achieve the best outcomes for our clients. Particular uses include document interrogation, analysis, summarisation and proofreading, as well as research, ideation, translation and grammar/language suggestions. In addition, for select clients who have specifically authorised it, we use AI tools to directly produce draft work product for review and editing by the responsible IP professional. In all cases in which AI tools are used, the process of carrying out work remains under the control of our attorneys and IP solicitors, who also retain ultimate responsibility over the accuracy and quality of all work product.

Use of AI at Venner Shipley is subject to the firm’s AI policy and adheres to applicable regulatory guidelines. All IP professionals with access to the firm’s AI tools have received training on their use.
