Sam Exton

Profile 

Sam is a Part-qualified Patent Attorney in our chemistry and life sciences team. Sam has an extensive background in patent application drafting and prosecution, particularly in the fields of consumer chemistry, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, medical devices, agriculture and pharmaceuticals.

Education

Sam graduated from Oxford University with an MChem (Chemistry) and MSc (Pharmacology). Having a particular interest in the interplay between chemistry and biology, Sam chemically synthesised and biologically validated potential lithium mimetics for the treatment of bipolar disorder. Sam also studied the effect of astaxanthin (a pink pigment found in krill, salmon, flamingos) on attenuating UV-induced DNA and cellular damage in skin cells.

Since joining the profession, Sam has sat all five of the PEB Foundation Certificate exams as part of his qualification towards becoming a UK Patent Attorney.
