Profile

Nikesh is a European and UK Patent Attorney in the Electronics, Software and Communications team and has been practising in the field of intellectual property law for over 20 years.

Nikesh has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in a wide variety of technologies, including computer implemented and AI related inventions, in which he has considerable experience in advising on the threshold of patentability in the UK and Europe. He also handles electro-mechanical subject matter for a number of long standing clients. He provides strategic advice for SMEs and large multinationals and manages worldwide patent portfolios for his clients.

Examples of his work include advising on the use of AI in electrical measurement systems, fault prediction for vehicles and complex environments, as well as inventions related to computer-implemented simulation and modelling. He also advises on smart-metering products, hazard detector testing solutions and electrical connector technology.

He has provided advice on IP protection for AI and other computer-inventions for clients. For example, he has worked with start-ups in providing advice on protecting their AI inventions including the considerations of patenting versus trade secrets. He has carried out IP audits for innovative UK SMEs that use AI as they develop their IP strategies.

Nikesh has a degree in Computer Systems & Electronics from Kings College London.
