Mahdi Godazgar

Profile

Mahdi is a Part-qualified Patent Attorney in our Electronics, Software and Communications team.  His main areas of interest include machine learning, in particular Core AI, and quantum computing.

Mahdi has extensive research experience in gravitational physics and particle physics.  He has published over forty highly-cited papers in leading journals, including Physical Review Letters.  He has held research positions at King’s College Cambridge, the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics and ETH Zürich, and a Royal Society University Research Fellowship and Lecturership in Mathematics at Queen Mary University of London.

Education

Mahdi studied for a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics at the University of York before completing the Part III of the Mathematical Tripos (MASt) at the University of Cambridge, focusing on theoretical physics.  He remained in Cambridge to undertake PhD studies in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.  His PhD research focused on higher-dimensional gravity and symmetries in gravitational theories.

Since entering the profession, Mahdi has obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London.
