Jamie McDougall

Profile

Jamie is a European and UK Patent Attorney in our Electronics, Software and Communications team. He has particular experience of drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of medical devices, consumer electronics, telecommunications and software.

Jamie has also worked with clients specializing in laser systems, satellite systems and semiconductor devices. Jamie has a keen interest in the cleantech, energy and space industries and regularly attends events to keep abreast of developments in these fields.

In addition to many years of experience prosecuting patent applications before the UKIPO and EPO, Jamie has substantial experience in direct US prosecution. He is also regularly engaged by his clients to give freedom to operate opinions and patent validity opinions.

Jamie enjoys building close working relationships with his clients and regularly visits companies in the UK, US and Germany.

Education

Jamie holds a master’s degree in Physics from Imperial College London, specialising in semiconductor devices, laser technology, space and plasma physics and optical communications. He also holds a certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary College, University of London.
