Jack Rogan

Profile

Jack is a Partner and European and UK Patent Attorney in our Mechanical team.

Jack has experience drafting and prosecuting European, national and international patent applications which relates to a wide variety of technical areas within the mechanical and electromechanical sectors and design right applications. He is experienced in working with large engineering companies, universities, and small and medium sized enterprises.

The diversity in clients that Jack has worked with means that he has experience in technical areas ranging from aerospace technology, including wing design and deployment, and propulsion systems for aircraft and spacecraft, automotive technology, and improved body armour to medical devices and packaging.

Jack has also assisted with oppositions before the European Patent Office and providing observations on patent application, freedom-to-operate opinions, and advising clients on patent infringement and validity.

Jack has also successfully completed the CIPA litigation skills course.

Education

Jack graduated from the University of Manchester with an undergraduate master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. His studies focused on High & Low Speed Aerodynamics, Aero & Space Propulsion, Aero Structures, Flight Dynamics, Acoustics, Aeroelasticity. During his master’s, Jack also undertook projects in the Design and Manufacture of UAVs and the Aerodynamic Drag of Bodies at Supersonic Speeds.
