Profile

Hugh is a UK and European Patent Attorney in our Electronics, Software and Communications team. Hugh has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a broad range of technical areas, including software, machine learning, computer vision, electronics, and autonomous vehicles.

Education

Hugh studied Engineering at the University of Cambridge, specialising in Electrical and Information Sciences. During his fourth year, he was awarded a First for his project on simulating the performance of quantum key distribution in the presence of classical data channels, including modelling the effect of Raman scattering and other non-linear noise sources. Hugh graduated from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge in 2019 with MEng and BA degrees in Engineering, qualifying in the areas of Electrical and Information Sciences, and Instrumentation and Control.

Since entering the profession, Hugh has obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London.
