Charlotte Rigden

Profile

Charlotte is a Part-qualified Patent Attorney in our Chemical and Life Sciences team. Since joining Venner Shipley, Charlotte has gained experience drafting and prosecuting UK and European patent applications across a broad range of technical areas, including molecular biology, immunology, antibodies, stem cells, cell and gene therapy, vaccines, bioinformatics, and food products.

Education

Charlotte graduated from the University of Surrey in 2023 with a First-Class Honours degree in Biochemistry. Throughout her degree, she studied molecular biology, pharmacology, cancer biology, and immunology. During her final year, Charlotte wrote a grant proposal dissertation focused on the discovery of novel secondary metabolites with antibiotic activity against clinically relevant pathogens.

Since entering the profession, Charlotte has obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London.
