Meet our Team: Ting Wu

As part of our ‘Meet our Team’ series, we ask Ting Wu, one of our newly promoted ESC (Electronics, Software and Communications) senior associates based in our London office, about her journey to becoming a patent attorney, what she loves about Venner Shipley and what else she enjoys in life.

When did you join Venner Shipley and what office do you work in?
I joined Venner Shipley in November 2017. I work in the London office.

How did you get into working in IP or your current role?
A friend of mine already worked in a UK IP firm and I heard him talking about his job a lot. It appeared to be a good career. In addition, I wanted to find a role in which I can use my technical background and Chinese language skills. Working in IP seemed like a good fit.

What areas do you currently specialise in in your role?
I am specialised in consumer electronics and telecommunications.

What do you enjoy most about working in IP law?
Helping inventors to protect their inventions and working with Chinese IP firms/companies.

What recent successes/achievements have you had (personal/professional)?
I have been promoted to senior associate.

What’s the best thing about working at Venner Shipley?

Electric car with level 5 autonomous driving.

Playing piano, singing and dancing.
